WFA Quiz Night Raises £400

Last Saturday saw the very first WFA charity quiz night held at Cheam Social Club. A total of 11 teams put their wits and general knowledge to the test, including one strong contender of Westbourne staff members as well as parents, family and other members of the club. Helped along with copious snacks and a few drinks, teams battled through 10 rounds of tricky questions covering sport, politics, food, music, entertainment and more. There was also a great raffle with generous donations from Asda, Number One Thai restaurant, Twickenham Rugby Club, M Manzies and SJ Salons.

In the end, an exciting tiebreaker meant team “5 doughnuts” were able to claim their second place winnings of £25, but the top prize of £50 was well deserved by team “OK Google”!

It was a fabulous evening and the WFA are very grateful to Cheam Social Club for kindly allowing us to hold the event in their hall. Many thanks to Neil and Daisy Dickson for their hard work in putting the quiz questions together and Neil for acting as quizmaster. Thanks also to Phil & Lewis Stephenson, Virginia Kennedy & Fred Bastello, Gemma Dickson for their help on the night and Kelly Groom for putting the event together. Feedback has been excellent and we are hoping to hold another quiz in the not too distant future. As well as being a fun social event for parents, we can also announce that the quiz raised almost £400 for Westbourne, which is a fantastic total so thank you to everyone who came along and contributed!
