Westbourne Primary School

RISE Open Education Fortnight

Westbourne Primary School is proud to have been selected to host events as part of the London RISE Open Education Fortnight. We are inviting educational professionals to join our workshop: ‘Creating a Culture of Attendance'. Our aim is to showcase our successful efforts in driving attendance to pre-pandemic levels, building on our school vision, mission and values, as well as sharing practical strategies to remove barriers.

Belonging: One Big Family

Our school vision (A Flourishing and Thriving Childhood) and core values (Belonging, Excellence, Success and Happiness) drive our unrelenting efforts to ensure all children achieve highly, irrespective of their starting point. As a High Performing World Class School (HPL) and Oracy Voice 21 School, we have ensured children's learning is enhanced by excellent pedagogy, underpinned by a culture of genuine belonging, where children want to attend, and where families are supported in removing barriers to attendance and achievement.

Key Takeaways:

•How to build a culture of attendance (all stakeholders)

•How to create a team approach to improve attendance

•Practical strategies to tackle absence

•Our approach to disadvantaged and vulnerable children’s attendance
