Thank you! Westbourne Summer Fair has raised £2,395 for our school!
After many weeks concerned about a potential wash-out, the annual Westbourne Summer Fair last Saturday turned out to be the hottest day of the year! Despite the heat, children and families still enjoyed the many games, stalls, dance and choir performances, the brilliant Surrey Jive dancers and delicious BBQ, food and treats on offer. In all, a great way to spend the afternoon together as a school community and raise funds at the same time.
Well done indeed to this year’s organising team, led by Sagar Vadher, with great support from Justen Bailey, Dean & Louise Couldridge, Kelly Groom, Mehnaz Khan, Virginia Kennedy and Phil Stephenson.
Thank you also to the many people who volunteered to run stalls, set-up and clear-away after the event: Eman Ali, Lacey Allan & Logan, Rachel Ayton, Fred Bastello & Mariel, Nadia Bushra, Lyn Celebi, Tracey Chapman, Lauren Cleere, Gemma, Neil & Daisy Dickson, Laura & Gareth Dyer, Anita Eedpuganti, Olga Filippova, Priya Gautham, Neelima Gera & family, Michele Hadjilah, Amy Hearn & Paul Ferman, Wanda Henderson, Aneta Jenkins, Bea Jennings, Tooba Khan, Danielle & Richard Minto, Evelyn Navaratnam, Beverley Phillips, Thriveni Potti, Remah Rajiah, Maricel Ringor & Javier Lopez, Emma Rodber, Adrienne Rogers & Y6 stall helpers, Debbie Rose, Hilary Sang, Cassandra Seeger-Oulton, Drew & Julia Seville, Naila Shah, Rajyashree Sharma, Chris Shaw, Francesca Shears, Lewis Stephenson & Charlotte Groves, Kate Thomas, Sine Trujillo, Saritha Vijaiganesh, Karen Vince, Yuli Wang, Rob & Jo Yuille, Jessica Xiahua, Quianyue Zeng. A special thanks to Justine Laugee & Alex who not only helped us clear up, but also kindly drove our excess bins to the refuse centre!
Also, thank you to Karen Burrows, Laura Daley and Cassandra Seeger-Oulton for their generous raffle donations, Ghousia Nadeem for her delicious samosas and Naila Shah for arranging the pizzas.
Thank you to the Westbourne staff who helped organise the day and run activities: Mrs Bolton, Mr Jiggins, Miss Aves, Mrs Rondeau, Mr Miracapillo and Mrs Fulton, Mrs Pope’s expertise on the bouncy castles, Mr Prothero and Mrs Clark.
Thanks very much indeed to our Year 6 runners, the younger pupils, siblings and other grown-ups not mentioned by name who were on hand to carry chairs and tables, set up gazebos, clean away and generally made themselves very useful on the day. We couldn’t do it without you!
Michelle Bibby would also like to thank everyone who came to her excellent stall in aid of the support group Local Families with Bleeding Disorders, who do great work helping patients living with inherited blood disorders and their families. She raised £323.80, which an amazing total for a great cause. Well done Michelle!
