Last week’s book fair with added second-hand books and uniform stalls, cake sale and craft activity proved to be very popular indeed! Thank you all very much for getting involved, coming along with your children to support the event and giving such positive feedback.
Westbourne Fundraising Association’s treasurers have been busy counting all the money raised so we can let you know how we have done. Westbourne pupils stocked up on an amazing £1284.10 of new books to read, which means we have earned £710.46 in rewards to spend on new reading material for school! We also raised £348.71 from the sale of cakes and second-hand books, including a donation of £52 from the Janahvi Cup day and Janahvi’s family. Finally, the second-hand uniform stall raised a further £100, giving us a grand total of £1,159.17!
This is not only a fabulous amount of money, but it was also great to see Westbourne pupils and families looking through the books, making some very funky bookmarks and generally having fun together after school!
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed the books and uniform they no longer need. We are always keen for more donations of second-hand Westbourne uniform in particular, so as your children grow out of their current jumpers, cardigans and jackets or move on from the school, please do consider leaving it at the school office as many parents find it very helpful.
Thank you also to everyone who made and donated cakes and biscuits to sell and all who helped with the setting up, selling and clearing away over two busy days – it is much appreciated! A special thank you to Jo Yuille for storing and managing the second-hand uniform and Wanda Henderson for coming up with the lovely bookmark making ideas.
Well done Westbourne!
