Welcome back after the Easter holiday, we hope you all had a lovely break.
The children have all settled back beautifully and are enjoying sharing their Easter news.
This term we will be learning all about growing and changing. The children have already enjoyed investigating the caterpillars and talking about the lifecycle of a butterfly. We will be reading ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ and talking about healthy and un-healthy food choices.
We have begun learning the phonics sounds and singing the Jolly Phonics songs, We have learnt the sound ‘S’ and will go on to learn ‘A’ and ‘T’. The children have also been practising their name writing and writing the sound we have learnt.
This term is an important one for change as the children are preparing for their move to ‘big school’. We will be supporting the children with this by, going to the playground and using the equipment, visiting the reception classrooms and outdoor areas. The reception teachers and adults will also visit us in Nursery for story times. You could also help your child’s move be a smooth one by helping them become independent, dressing themselves, putting on their own shoes and socks and also encouraging them to eat using cutlery at meal times.
The nursery team would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents who helped to organise and run the Easter egg hunt. The children all had an amazing time and it looked like the parents did too!
